“Happiness is holding someone in your arms
and knowing you hold the whole world.”
― Orhan Pamuk

If there is one thing that can make a wedding a successful one is that both sides of the Family wholeheartedly accepts each other as part of their inner circle. In this case, Camille and Emin’s wedding was pretty much a family event. Of course I already found out Camille’s family was a fun and outgoing one since I already spent time with them in Arizona when I photographed Camille’s sister, Clarisse, for her debut pictorials. But for this wedding, I was taken aback by how Emin’s side of the family was equally fun and outgoing as well. I might as well add energetic in their reportoire since they never stopped dancing until midnight. And this all happened on a Sunday night.

Besides the wonderful details of their wedding and the fun atmosphere, it was the general warmth and intimacy of this particular wedding that struck out to me the most. Since Camille and Emin came from two different backgrounds and culture, they had to find a way for both sides of their families to witness and enjoy the ceremony. You know that joke: “A rabbi, a priest….walked into a bar.”? Well there was no jokes here, a Rabbi and a priest did walk together. They walked side by side, down the aisle to officiate the ceremony of Camille and Emin. I’m sure they hold their faith in high regards, but for both officiant to give respect for the differences in their religion and to to make sure each of their culture’s traditions was incorporated and highlighted. It was very meaningful and heartfelt. The compassion and support from each other’s family towards Camille and Emin was just amazing as well and felt throughout the ceremony. Although I am aware that each religion has their own cultural differences, what I do know is that what religions mostly teach is LOVE. And that is truly what this wedding is all about.
