“In the arithmetic of love, one plus one equals everything,
and two minus one equals nothing.” ~ Mignon McLaughlin
You know what’s more exciting than shooting in San Francisco? Shooting a surprise proposal in San Francisco during a pandemic while there are wildfires going on. Awesome time to be alive right? But even if the skies in San Francisco were blanketed by smoke and ash, and the smell of sulfur is everywhere, this place is still beautiful. At least to my eyes. Yet still, even with everything that’s going on, I’m glad that Jeffrey went and forged ahead with his plans to propose in front of the Painted Ladies. Its where the location of that 90’s TV show, Full House, was based on. I mean who doesn’t get nostalgic when you hear that opening theme song from that show? You just can’t help but sing along with it. While some people might correlate the Painted Ladies being iconic due to that particular show and the very pretty architecture of the houses, Jeffrey has a different affinity with it altogether. Let’s just say that, although slipping and falling down is never the best way to impress your date, it’s how you recover from it that will determine if you’re going to garner extra brownie points from your lady. I think in Jeffrey’s case, it was the latter. Besides, these are the kind of awkward dating stories that people love to reminisce on and laugh about with old friends. And is it me? Or the couples with the embarrassing and awkward dating stories always end up staying together the longest? Playfulness and shared laughter is definitely an important factor in establishing a strong relationship. I can honestly say that the couples who can laugh about the same things, and laugh at each other are in the healthiest of relationships with their partners.
So with that said, I definitely had an awesome time photographing & documenting Jeffrey proposing to his now fiancée, Candy. They were lighthearted, adventurous and laid-back. My type of clients. And now that Jeffrey has proposed and she said “Yes.”, a new adventure awaits for them. Hopefully, as they grow old together, there will be less slipping and more falling (in love with each other). 😆😆😆 Enjoy the photos!
