“A woman's heart should be so hidden in
God that a man has to seek Him just to find her.”
― Max Lucado
I’m excited to finally show you this engagement session with Camille and Emin. Besides taking me back to my second favorite city in California, San Diego, it also gives me a chance to hang out with the most “kalog” couple that I’ve met. For non-tagalog speakers, “kalog” literally means to shake. But it’s also used to suggest that a person is crazy, in a fun way. And these two are it. I met Camille when I photographed her younger sister’s debut portraits a year ago. Then I met the couple at her sister’s party a few months later. Camille and Emin finally got engaged around October. And then almost a year later, from the first time I met them, here I am trying to convince Emin, her fiancee, who is deathly afraid of heights, to get as close to the edge of the cliff as possible. I mean you don’t want to waste that gorgeous sunny, San Diego view. Especially since, California felt more like Oregon with all the rain that fell on us. But I digress. Looking back, San Diego’s laid back atmosphere perfectly balanced Camille and Emin’s personalities: fun, spontaneous and silly. And I wouldn’t have them any other way.
