“I knew right away that you were it for me.
There were no reservations or second thoughts,
I saw you and in an instant knew in my bones,
my soul had known your soul lifetimes ago.”
~ Beau Taplin

I am no wordsmith by any stretch of the imagination. And most of the time, the images sit in front of my screen collecting digital dust while I try to wrangle my brain into coming up with something to write about. And sadly, this post is no exception. It too suffered from mental blocks and different write ups. And each write up drifted further and further from what I was trying to convey in the first place. So I usually retreat back to the kitchen, pour myself a glass of wine, and try to unburden myself from the frustrations of writing and start with a blank slate. So I start again from scratch. And instead of thinking in sentences, I started to think of a word that best described that particular day. And the one thing that came up time after time is: “FUN”. And although it’s a simple word, and may carry a certain connotation that can be mistaken that the shoot was frivolous, this assumption could not be further from the truth. There is something to be said about a couple that knows not only how to have fun, but to actually BE fun to be around with. Jeff and Kristina is one of those couples. Down-to-earth with bubbly personalities that I cant help to be drawn to. Their back-and-forths and one-liners towards one another kept me laughing throughout the shoot. But don’t let their interactions confuse you that they are on each other’s throat. There’s a big difference between bicker and banter. And theirs is more of that witty, clever one-liners that are designed to make each other laugh. They just have chemistry. I read somewhere that: “..fists don’t need to fly for sparks to fly.” So chemistry like theirs don’t come naturally. It may take years. Or it may never come at all. But since they have been together ever since they were still in high school, they are truly meant to be. And twelve years together was more than enough for Jeff and Kristina to become a well oiled #relationshipgoals machine. And kudos to them. They certainly suit each other very well. And they truly deserve one another.

On a sidenote: This particular shoot was a challenge to finish to say the least. Besides the unbearable summer heat that we had to go through on the first part of this shoot, it took us another month or so before we could find time to do the second part of their pre-nup. And lodged in between was two weddings and another engagement session that I had to deliver. And then the next thing you know it’s Fall season here in SoCal. Which would explain the more gloomier feel of the second part of the shoot. But I still loved how their outfits complimented their respective backdrops. Anyways, enjoy the photos!
