“Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans.” ― Allen Saunders
I never have to cover a wedding by myself. But I knew one day it was bound to happen, I just wasn't expecting to do it in such a short notice. So I had to cover Chai and Raf's wedding by myself. I was excited but at the same time, nervous. Nervous, because as my wife can attest to, I'm prone to absent-mindedness. Moving from one shot to the next, I tend to forget lenses that I set on the ground just a few seconds before. Or being too . So that's why my wife, who second shoots for me, is also a walking planner of sorts. She's there to keep me in line, and make sure I don't have to worry aboutt forgetting the lenses or even (GASP!) misplacing the rings.. If the iPhone has Siri. Or if Android has Google. I have my wife.
But no lenses were lost during the wedding. In fact, as challenging as the day was, Chai and Rafael's bridal party was a blast to hang out with, which made my day easier. Sore feet aside, it's a fullfilling experience that is humbling at the same time.
